Good to Know: Stimulus Package Released Today

Those eager to drop £10($15) on Modern Warfare 2’s first set of downloadable content were reporting issues with loading maps and downloading the new DLC early this morning. Though there were a few hiccups with the new DLC, Major Nelson has confirmed the Stimulus Package is now available for download and working normally. The map pack includes three new multiplayer maps and two reworked maps veterans of the first Modern Warfare will recognize all for the controversial price of 1200 MS Points.
Enjoy it, that is if you can justify that price point.
Perfect Dark Review: No Expansion Pak Required

Two generations ago the spiritual successor to GoldenEye 007, Perfect Dark was arguably the best shooter to have ever graced the consoles. Bursting with so much content at the time, it required a compulsory memory upgrade if you intended on playing the full game. Ten years on and 4J Studios, the team behind the XBLA Banjo remakes have worked their magic and given Perfect Dark the treatment it so rightly deserved. Times have changed though, we no longer need four controllers or a big enough TV to accommodate split screen, and rounding up four friends for a good old fragfest is a thing of the past. First Glimpse of Dead Space 2 Gameplay at PAX

While the conference snippet is a bit blurry, viewers will be able to get a taste of the amped up action the Visceral team are promising with sequel. Even more importantly, you will be able make out the outrageous leap of faith Isaac makes on to a separate moving train car using jetpacks…attached to his feet.

Something’s Going Down at Infinity Ward [UPDATE]

According to G4 some strange things are going down at the studio behind Modern Warfare 2 – Infinity Ward. Apparently the relationship between Infinity Ward and Activision has been pretty “tense” as of lately – tell us something we don’t know. Studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West haven’t been seen since they met with Activision earlier this morning and the staff are described as “on edge”. Read More »
Aliens: Colonial Marines Back in the Spotlight

Someone cue the hype train!
After missing it’s scheduled 2009 release date, Sega’s Aliens: Colonial Marines seems to be back on track for a release. In a recent interview with MCV, Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford mentions that work on Borderlands and it’s DLC as part of the reasoning behind Colonial Marines’ troubled production. Pitchford explains, “It’s the thing I’ve been stealing from all my career. Now I’m really working on it, but we’ve been quiet about that so far.”
