Reach Does Epic and Teases Space Combat

Bungie’s Marcus Leto took the stage at Microsoft’s E3 briefing to show off the world premiere of Halo: Reach’s unseen campaign. The clip shows Noble Team pushing on through a beach as Covenant Pods fall from the sky and attack – all looking very epic in terms of scale, even by Halo’s standards. New Xbox 360 Boot Screen?

New box, new kit, new look? With the launch of their new console and Kinect approaching fast, Microsoft look to be rebranding the Xbox 360. Kinect and its Hub (shown at E3) add more dimension to the Dashboard’s UI, and will likely bring new tweaks to the interface at launch. A revised boot screen would only be natural, right?

Kid Icarus: Uprising 3DS Announced

After much rumor and speculation, Kid Icarus is indeed making a return in the upcoming Kid Icarus: Uprising. Revealed during Nintendo’s briefing, Uprising was built specifically for the newly announced 3DS and will be one of the handheld’s flagship titles. The 3DS Officially Detailed

At the Nintendo E3 briefing earlier today, Satoru Iwata officially unveiled Nintendo’s successor to the DS line, the Nintendo 3DS. The new handheld maintains a bottom touch screen similar to the DS’ but also includes an impressive 3.5 inch widescreen 3D display for the top screen. Along with a significant upgrade in the handheld’s graphics capabilities, the 3DS will include a slider which lets you alter the 3D display to a 2D display, motion sensor, gyro sensor, and what Nintendo is calling a “slide pad.”

Donkey Kong Country Returns This Fall

Another day, another rumor confirmed at the Electronics Entertainment Expo. The newly announced Donkey Kong Country Returns does exactly what the titles says, revisits one of the most beloved Nintendo franchises. The game is being developed by Retro Studios (of Metroid Prime fame) and looks to be receiving the NSMB treatment with the 2D gameplay being given that extra special splash of 3D. Diddy Kong will also be tagging along for the adventure using his backpack as a jetpack or his ability granting peanut gun.

You can expect to see Donkey Kong Country Returns on store shelves this Fall. Check out the official E3 tailer after the break!

Limbo Gets July Release Alongside Summer of Arcade

One of the more quieter announcements this afternoon was that Limbo, a game I’ve had my eye on for a while now, would be here just in time for this year’s annual Xbox Live Summer of Arcade.

In Limbo the player assumes the role of a young boy, uncertain of his sister’s fate he enters “Limbo” and sets off on a journey of unproportional magnitude through a hauntingly beautiful world. Check out the game’s trailer after the break. Read More »

Metal Gear: Rising Rips Open E3

Just like last year, in an attempt to rub fanboys up the wrong way, Kojima-san took the stage at Microsoft’s Briefing to shed some light on the latest game in the series, Metal Gear Solid: Rising. The trailer’s tag “Cut at Will” was used as Raiden ripped through enemies and objects with flair, choosing the angles as he went.

Alan Wake ‘The Signal’ DLC Detailed
