Ever found yourself on the fence about buying a new game? This should get you off it! Watch the opening minutes of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 after the break.

The ESRB has just secured their rating for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, revealing that the game’s beginning will see players returning to World War II, something I’m sure many many are hoping will be brief.

In single-player mode, players conduct missions on an unnamed Japanese island during World War II and then move into the modern day through jungles, deserts, and snowy terrain.

This could mean we’re going back in time, or more than likely setting up the scene for our modern outing. Either way we’ll have to wait and see come March. Wake Island anyone?

I think it’s safe to say it’s not only Modern Warfare EA seem to be going after, but in fact the Call of Duty series as a whole. Watch out Activision.

Early this morning the single-player Battlefield: Bad Company 2 trailer debuted on GameTrailers TV. The episode revealed that the original B Company would be returning, with players stepping back in the shoes of Private Preston Marlowe. Also revealed in the episode, was a new multiplayer demo launching sometime in February.

I’ll admit, the story seems to be a typical military campaign – someone cue the default Russian enemies and over the over the top violence. Fortunately, the new trailer features spectacular visuals paired with some excellent music via Queens of the Stone Age, and that, for me, looks like one hell of an experience.

“Things are going to get real ugly,” on March 2 when Battlefield Bad Company 2 launches. (Honestly, who didn’t see that one coming at the end of the post?)
