MacRumors have pointed out the possibility of video conferencing through Game Center, Apple’s social gaming network. Players may be able to chat with fellow players and friends through the next-generation iPhone’s front-facing camera (apparently it has one of those). Posted in iPhone by Nick Ward on Sunday 11 April 2010 5:56 pm

It’s been over seventy-two hours since Apple announced their new OS 4 and plenty of information has been flowing through the tubes of the internet about the new features that will be included when it launches this summer. Developers have been toying around with the new system but one major aspect, an aspect that iPhone toting gamers will find more intriguing than setting your iPhone’s background to a picture of Kratos, is Game Center. Essentially, Game Center is a social network for your iPhone games that includes leaderboards, matchmaking and achievements to earn. No time to waste! A few hours into Thursday morning and Final Fantasy I & II have popped up on the UK and Japanese App Store as promised. Remastered for the PSP back in ’07; the ports have made their way to the iPhone and iPod Touch masterfully, with the obvious touch controls in place. At £5.49/$8.99 each you’d be a fool to miss out on this RPG goodness.

It doesn’t seem to have made it’s way onto the US App Store as of yet. Let us know when you get it guys, shouldn’t be too long of a wait now.

UPDATE: It’s official. Both games are now available on the US App Store and awaiting your purchase. Happy Nostalgia!

Mirror's Edge iPhone

What a coincidence. Just this morning I was tweeting in hope of a Mirror’s Edge themed Canabalt title for the iPhone. A couple hours later and EA drop the first trailer for my handheld fantasy – who said Christmas doesn’t come early? Being such a huge fan of the original, I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for details on a sequel. Dead Space got one, they’re practically brother and sister goddammit!

Getting back to the topic at hand the trailer below looks amazing and will be available next month, as in January 2010. The parkour looks gorgeous in a 2.5D environment and for those who didn’t fancy the first person view from the original, you no longer have an excuse. Not many details are available as of yet, stay tuned for more information and hit the jump for the trailer.
