AVP: Respawn in 3,2,1…
Posted in Alien vs. Predator, Eurogamer Expo 09, PC, PS3, Xbox 360 by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Thursday 19 November 2009 11:00 pmPlaying above is Alien vs. Predator, and we’re the first to admit we’re awful at it. I think at one point the rep walking us through it decided to wander off – I don’t blame him! Read More »
Super Yum Yum: Baby Rescue Interview
Posted in Eurogamer Expo 09, Interviews, PC, Super Yum Yum: Baby Rescue by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Tuesday 17 November 2009 10:39 pmDuring our wander through the Indie Games Arcade at the Eurogamer last month, we had a chat with James Wright from Airplay after going hands on with their latest – Super Yum Yum: Baby Rescue.
Developers of the BAFTA-nominated Super Yum Yum series, Airplay UK are looking to create an established console brand. With a DSiware version slated for Christmas, and the chance of multiple console releases on the horizon the future is looking awfully colourful… and that much more delicious!
What a Show, See You Next Year
Posted in Eurogamer Expo 09 by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Sunday 1 November 2009 3:25 pmThought it’d be fitting to end the show with a montage, huge thanks to the Eurogamer Expo and HMV who made everything possible, they really put a lot into this and it showed. Thanks to my team (you know who you are), without them none of this would have seen the light of the day. Enough of me yapping, enjoy the clip and we’ll see you next year!
Wrap Up: Eurogamer Expo 2009
Posted in Eurogamer Expo 09 by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Sunday 1 November 2009 2:48 pm
Just got back from London’s Eurogamer Expo and boy was it worth it! We arrived on the Thames nice and early and were amongst hundreds of gamers already in line, eager to get their hands this year’s must-haves. Kudos to the door staff who managed to get the line moving at an impressive rate, it wasn’t too long before we’d gotten through registration, secured our wristbands and we were inside!
More God of War 3 Demo Gameplay
Posted in Eurogamer Expo 09, PS3, Sony by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Sunday 1 November 2009 2:47 pm
I feel like you’ve seen this footage 100 times already, it’s the same demo that’s on your hard drive by now and the same old thing Sony showed at E3, awesome nevertheless I might add. Incase you’ve just crawled from out a rock, served time in a federal prison, if shaky cams are your thing, or if you’d just prefer to see how we played it then this video is for you! Read More »
Here’s Some Red Steel 2 Footage
Posted in Eurogamer Expo 09, Nintendo, Wii by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Sunday 1 November 2009 2:46 pm
Didn’t manage to get my hands on the Wiimote seen as a lot of people were already in line waiting anxiously, so I decided to just watch from the sideline. The game itself looks bloody awesome and led me to purchasing a Wii MotionPlus the second I got home. Being dragged through the desert in first-person almost makes the game worth the 40 quid alone. You, the last remaining member of “The Protectors” are on a mission to avenge your fallen clan, revenge begins this Spring. Hit the jump for the video! Read More »
Heavy Rain – Hassan’s Shop
Posted in Eurogamer Expo 09, PS3, Sony by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Sunday 1 November 2009 2:41 pmWe’ve seen the multiple ways the supermarket scene can play out so we had a go of our own in the shoes of private detective Scott Shelby. As you can see we didn’t take too kindly to the robbing of little Hassan, needless to say that bloke won’t be trying that out again!
You’re NOT Gonna Want to Bring It Home to Your Girlfriend
Posted in Eurogamer Expo 09 by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Sunday 1 November 2009 2:39 pmHere’s some Avatar gameplay we caught at the show. Spoiler free of course, since the game is based on a separate story within the same universe. I must say I can’t wait until release to give it a proper play-through and personally think an unskippable James Cameron E3 speech would be a nice touch to the game!
Can You Hear Me? Avatar Interview
Posted in Eurogamer Expo 09, Interviews by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Sunday 1 November 2009 2:35 pmSorry for the sound quality. During a noisy end to a fantastic show we had a chat with Phil Bradley from Ubisoft on James Cameron’s Avatar, we couldn’t get him to talk too much on their plans for multiplayer, but we do know that they’re aiming to support online battles with up to 20 players and it seems the Rainbow Six team are involved with it. Ubisoft are also hoping to change the perception on video game movie tie-ins – all sounds good to me!
A Few Words on the New Mario Bros. Wii
Posted in Eurogamer Expo 09, Interviews, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Nintendo by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Sunday 1 November 2009 2:27 pmWe caught up with a Nintendo Rep at the show to get some details on Mario and the gang’s new adventure which will land on the Wii this fall. With up to four joinable players it’s guaranteed to be a family favourite in the living room this holiday season, as well as being the first side-scrolling Mario console platformer to hit since the SNES back in the early 90′s!
