The Early Bird Gets to Wait

Alan Wake’s first add-on episode, The Signal, was released on the Xbox Live Marketplace today – hurrah! If you bought the game “new” you should have received a token, allowing free access to the game’s first episode of downloadable content – double hurrah!

The problem with this was loads of people (including myself), scratched away the strip and redeemed their free code right away after opening the game at launch – something the token never warned against might I add.

Well those unlucky few that redeemed too early were suffered to wait today until Microsoft sent out the new codes. Some received their replacement code straight away while others, like me, still haven’t received anything.

For those of you still waiting, make sure your email address is tied to your Xbox Live account and keep checking back for updates. Oh and don’t forget to check out The Signal’s official trailer after the break, we should be in for a treat judging by the look of it – I wouldn’t know though. Read more »

Project Needlemouse = Sonic 4?

Posted in Sega, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Tuesday 2 February 2010 2:30 am

It started with a teaser trailer that gave hope to Sonic fans across the globe. Code named Project Needlemouse, Sega are hoping to return our favourite blue hedgehog to his former glory in a classy “2D style” adventure built from the ground up. Sadly this trailer was released way back in September and not a word has been heard since…that is until now. Read More »

Salem and Rios Visit London

Posted in Army of Two: The 40th Day, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Monday 4 January 2010 3:51 pm

With the impending release of Army of Two: The 40th Day creeping upon us, the games stars Salem and Rios head down to the capital to wreak havoc in a promotional stop-off. Although it’s just CG I deem this a great start to the year for us Brits, who are normally shafted when it comes to anything video game related. Don’t believe us? Would you believe we’re still waiting on that God of War: Collection?

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

Coinciding with the release of the movie in May, Ubisoft are returning to The Sands of Time storyline with Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Looking to feature similar mechanics to the 2003 smash hit, fans of the time-control abilities will have a chance to revisit the Prince of Persia they know and love.

“Sultans die, Kingdoms fall, but the sand remains. Now hidden within, is a dark secret.”

Feast your eyes on the CG trailer for The Forgotten Sands after the jump.

Spec Ops: The Line Revealed

Spec Ops: The Line

Everyone called it when the teaser popped up online last week but I was no way near expecting this. The standout trailer of the pack in my opinion, Spec Ops: The Line looks promising without a doubt. The gunfights border on insane while the attention to detail may give Gears a run for its money, I’m even sure I spotted an Uncharted-esque set piece at 1:05. Video after the jump.

Arkham Has Moved (Trailer)

Posted in Batman: Arkham Asylum by Raphael Essoo-Snowdon on Sunday 13 December 2009 5:32 am

This came as huge surprise. Rocksteady Studios have pulled a Valve and left us breathless after opening the VGAs with a taste of what’s next for Arkham Asylum. Mark Hamill will be reprising his role as The Joker while Gotham City faces dark times under the control of the above mentioned nutter.

Being one of my favourite games of the year, I’m over the moon that the British-founded developers have returned to the Batman Universe. With it being only months since the first game I just hope it isn’t too soon. Long live Joker!

You’re NOT Gonna Want to Bring It Home to Your Girlfriend

Here’s some Avatar gameplay we caught at the show. Spoiler free of course, since the game is based on a separate story within the same universe. I must say I can’t wait until release to give it a proper play-through and personally think an unskippable James Cameron E3 speech would be a nice touch to the game!
